Gatwick Airport Transfers.
Know your next step.

Arriving at Gatwick for London, an onward flight or a nearby stay? Find the right terminal, compare your transport and plan a private transfer to your exact destination. Return journeys to Gatwick can be arranged separately.

After landing: collect your bags, then your transfer

Check North or South Terminal with your airline before travelling. Provide the flight number, Gatwick arrival date, terminal and a mobile number usable in the UK. For an overnight flight, use the date you land.

  1. Leave the aircraft and follow signs for arrivals.
  2. Complete immigration where applicable, collect checked luggage and pass through customs.
  3. Check your confirmed meeting instructions before leaving the terminal.
  4. Contact Jupiter Cars with your booking reference if you cannot locate the meeting point or your flight or terminal changes.

Scheduled landing is not the time you will be ready for collection. Confirm your pickup timing and delayed-flight arrangements when booking; do not assume a waiting allowance from another airport applies.

North or South? Find the right onward transport

South Terminal

Gatwick railway station is at South Terminal. Follow the train signs from arrivals and allow time to reach the station, buy or retrieve a ticket if needed, and find your platform.

North Terminal

For trains, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to South Terminal. Gatwick describes the shuttle ride as around two minutes; walking to it, waiting and reaching the rail platform add time.

Meeting a private driver? Follow your booking’s agreed location. Gatwick provides designated pickup arrangements, including Short Stay areas; terminal drop-off zones are not your assumed collection point. Our confirmation must specify your arrangement rather than relying on a general airport map.

Choose the right route from Gatwick to London

Start with your hotel or destination postcode. “London” covers a large area: the most useful station or route depends on where you need to finish, not simply which service reaches central London.

SouthernServices include London Victoria and Clapham Junction.Compare the actual train and stopping pattern for your date. Carry bags through any onward interchange.
ThameslinkServices serve London Bridge, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras International.Choose the station closest to your destination and check your particular train; stopping patterns vary.
National Express coachScheduled services to London Victoria Coach Station.Check your Gatwick boarding stop, luggage allowance and ticket flexibility. Road traffic can affect the schedule.

Victoria railway station and Victoria Coach Station are separate places. Check which one is on your ticket. Allow time for the onward Tube, bus, car or walk, rather than treating either station as your final hotel address.

For families and groups, compare the total fare for everyone and all bags. For mobility needs, check assistance and lift availability along the complete route, including the last part to your accommodation.

Connecting from Gatwick to Heathrow

Heathrow gives an approximate airport-to-airport road distance of 42 miles (68 km). For initial private-car planning, allow 60–90 minutes of driving as an editorial allowance, not a measured average or guaranteed maximum. The terminal, traffic and road disruption can extend it; check a live estimate for your journey.

A private transfer can be quoted to your confirmed Heathrow departure terminal. Direct coach services are also available: Gatwick lists National Express, The Airline and FlixBus. Check the booked stop, terminal served, luggage allowance and flexibility if your arriving flight is delayed.

Plan the whole connection: Gatwick disembarkation + immigration where applicable + baggage collection + meeting your transport + road travel + Heathrow check-in, bag drop and security. Use your airline’s deadlines and add a suitable buffer. The driving allowance alone is not a safe flight-connection allowance.

For separate tickets, ask the airlines whether you must collect and recheck bags, and what happens if the onward flight is missed. Changing airports is a landside journey: check the UK entry or transit permission required for your nationality and documents.

Book a vehicle that fits your journey

  • Enter the correct direction, date, terminal and complete destination address with postcode.
  • Count adults and children, suitcases and cabin bags.
  • Describe pushchairs, wheelchairs and oversized items, including dimensions where useful.
  • Add the flight number, travel-day mobile number and any onward departure time.
  • Request a child seat or accessible vehicle in advance and obtain express confirmation.
  • Review the total quote, collection instructions, waiting terms and cancellation deadline.

Passenger seating capacity does not guarantee space for extra luggage. Compare the published vehicle capacities and contact us before paying if you are unsure. A vehicle or assistance request is not confirmed simply because it was entered in booking notes.

Check your Gatwick booking terms: confirm flight-delay arrangements, parking or airport-charge inclusions and when waiting charges begin. Do not assume Heathrow’s pickup timing or allowances apply. Your confirmed journey and current terms should explain what you are buying.

Staying at Gatwick: match the hotel to your terminal

A hotel name containing “Gatwick” does not mean it is inside your terminal. Choose between a connected hotel and an off-terminal stay based on your flight, bags and access needs. These examples illustrate the differences; availability and room rates must be checked directly.

Sofitel London Gatwick — North Terminal

Connected to North Terminal by a covered walkway. For South Terminal flights or the railway station, include the inter-terminal journey. Check the hotel’s current access instructions.

Official hotel and arrival information

Hampton by Hilton — North Terminal

Directly connected to North Terminal by a covered walkway. Confirm your hotel booking and follow hotel signs; a road transfer between this hotel and its connected terminal may be unnecessary.

Official hotel and arrival information

Hilton London Gatwick Airport — South Terminal

Connected to South Terminal by a covered walkway. North Terminal is reached using the airport’s inter-terminal transit, plus walking. Check the hotel’s location before selecting a terminal collection.

Official hotel and arrival information

Holiday Inn London–Gatwick Airport — off-terminal

On Povey Cross Road, requiring an onward transfer rather than a terminal walkway. The hotel lists a paid Hoppa shuttle serving both terminals. Check the current timetable, boarding points and charge directly; it is not a complimentary service.

Official hotel and arrival information

For a hotel transfer, enter its exact name, address and postcode. For late arrivals, confirm reception and check-in arrangements before travelling. For an early flight, plan your terminal journey the night before and check the agreed collection time.

A longer stay? A few places beyond the airport

These places are outside the terminals. Choose them only when you have enough time for both travel directions and the airport procedures for your next flight. Check UK entry requirements before leaving the airport if relevant to your journey.

Crawley town centre

Outside the airport, with shops around County Mall and the town centre. Useful for a meal, supplies or a change of scene during a longer stay. Check individual opening times and plan both your outward and return journey.

Council shopping guide

Tilgate Park, Crawley

A separate park visit for lakeside and woodland walks, suited to families and visitors wanting time outdoors. Check the council’s access guide and current park arrangements. The zoo and other attractions have their own tickets or booking rules; a park visit does not include them automatically.

Plan a Tilgate Park visit

Wakehurst, near Ardingly

A farther outing in West Sussex, rather than an airport-side stop: Kew’s wild botanic garden and home of the Millennium Seed Bank. Check admission, seasonal opening, planned closures and travel arrangements directly. Better considered during an overnight or longer stay than a short flight connection.

Wakehurst visitor information

Use Metrobus’s live planner or National Rail to check local travel. Sightseeing, stops and attraction admission are not included in a standard airport-transfer booking; any extra journey must be agreed and quoted.

Returning to Gatwick for your flight

Book the return journey separately with your full pickup address, postcode and correct North or South Terminal. Recheck the terminal with your airline, especially after a schedule change.

Work backwards from the airline’s required airport-arrival time, adding a current road estimate, traffic margin, loading and any agreed stops. Confirm assistance and the collection location before travelling. Arrival-pickup policies and departure-collection policies may differ; check the terms for this leg.
