Before You Fly
1. Check the Date You Land in London
If you are flying overnight from New York, California, or elsewhere, your Heathrow arrival may be on the day after you leave home. Always use the London arrival date and local time shown on your airline itinerary when booking a car or hotel stay.
2. Check Your Terminal
Heathrow Airport operates Terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5. Check your flight ticket or Heathrow’s live terminal finder before travelling, as terminal assignments can shift between airline alliance codeshares.
3. Permission to Travel (ETA & Visas)
Entry requirements depend on nationality. Use the official UK Government visa checker and Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system to ensure you have the required entry clearance before boarding.
4. Save Onward Details Offline
Download or screenshot your hotel address (including postcode) and booking confirmation before you fly. Heathrow provides free passenger Wi-Fi throughout all terminals once you land.
